About
"Hey, Girlie!" is a free visual novel dating sim released on May 17, 2025 for International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. Play as chosen cleric Kristen Applebees and attempt to romance favorite sapphic characters from Fantasy High, including Tracker, Gertie, Kipperlilly, Fig, Lucy, and Naradriel.
This is a fan project unaffiliated with Dimension 20 or Dropout, developed with the hard work of 52 creatives! The game is and will always be free, but if you're interested in supporting the team, we ask that you donate to Palestinian families in need (see Bonus Content section below for more info).

Story
Kristen Applebees thought her senior year at the Aguefort Adventuring Academy was going perfectly. As senior class president, she just pulled off the best Valentine's Day dance the school has ever seen! But her high spirits are quickly brought down by none other than Principal Arthur Aguefort, who reveals to her that his contract with the celestial plane requires that he kill any clerics who fail to represent their god with a date at the Spring Fling. As it happens, Kristen is the only follower of Cassandra, so that responsibility rests solely on her.
Cassandra's happily ever with Ankarna is at risk thanks to Kristen not having a date, and she won't let Kristen forget that! If Kristen dies, Cassandra dies too.
You'd think Kristen would have no trouble finding a Spring Fling date in eight weeks. She's saved the world, what, three times already? Came back to life twice? And most impressive of all, was elected Aguefort senior class president. Alas, Kristen has wronged the eligible women in her life one way or another.
Romanceable Characters
Tracker O'Shaughnessey is Kristen's ex. Enough said. She's moving back into Mordred Manor and returning to her routine of being a regular at the Aguefort gym, so that will be... awkward to say the least.
Princess Naradriel of Fallinel is Tracker's ex. Enough said. And she just happens to be leaving Fallinel for Solace at the same time as Tracker. Something about learning Solesian customs from Elmville residents to improve Fallinelven-Solesian relations?
Gertie Bladeshield was Kristen's rebound. Kristen left her heartbroken, so Gertie declared Kristen her nemesis. Enough said. Maybe Kristen can make amends at the Apiarists' Society after school, but that might not be the safest option.
Fig Faeth — well, Fig's fine with Kristen actually. Not only are they close friends in the same adventuring party living in the same house, Fig is the paladin for Kristen's deity's wife. Cassandra's only cleric and Ankarna's only paladin sounds like a match made in heaven hell, except things are totally platonic between Fig and Kristen. Besides, Fig has Ayda!
Lucy Frostblade didn't have enough screentime for us to assume she and Kristen have bad blood, but surely she wouldn't be happy with someone whose adventuring party killed her adventuring party, even if her own adventuring party killed her first, right? Maybe they can make small talk about that in cleric class.
If Kristen calling Kipperlilly Copperkettle "four different dogs" the moment they met wasn't bad enough, Kristen's adventuring party also killed Kipperlilly and chose to leave her in hell. Rumor has it that Kipperlilly has been stuck doing community service since her return to the mortal plane.

Known issues:
- Fullscreen unavailable in browser.
- Cursor gets stuck loading after pressing S to save and immediately pressing another hotkey. Can only exit by pressing ESC key.
- Spamming spacebar too quickly may lead to sprites showing up late / not appearing (particularly noticeable in post-date Cassandra check-ins).
- Lucy date 7 is "outside" when it should be "downtown."
NOT bugs:
- Autoforward in settings is separate from the Fast Forward setting.
- The progress apples indicate only the number of dates you've gone on, not how well you've done.
- You can only encounter a love interest once per week.
- The route that is prioritized is determined by your choice in the Cassandra intro.
- The location hints are the same however well/poorly you did on a route.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is the Kipperlilly route impossible?
A: No, it is possible to successfully ask every love interest to Spring Fling. Kipperlilly has a very high threshold for success -- even if you've gotten closer to her, she might still be uncomfortable making your relationship public!
Q: But the post-it note after Kipperlilly date 8 said...
A: The text on the post-it notes are the same regardless of how well you've been doing. As of May 22, we've rewritten the final post-it note for Kipperlilly in a more neutral tone to reflect that.
Q: But I had all four apples in the notebook...
A: Sorry for the confusion! The apples in the notebook act as a counter for how many dates you've gone on (half an apple per date), and we're working on a way to make this more clear in the game. Having gone on a minimum number of dates is one of the two success criteria for Spring Fling.
Q: What are the criteria for successfully asking a love interest to the Spring Fling? How do I know whether I'm on track?
A: There are two criteria for success: points from dialogue options and a minimum number of dates. While the the player does not know how many points they've earned, the love interest's responses and Cassandra's debrief after each date should clue you in to whether you knocked it out of the park, flubbed it, or did just okay. Think about what Kristen's established relationship is with each love interest -- some will be more amenable, and some will be harder to woo.
Q: Can I choose which love interests I meet if multiple love interests are at the same place?
A: Yes, in a limited way. The character you name in the first scene with Cassandra will be the character prioritized at a particular location. We've updated Cassandra's dialogue to emphasize this. The randomization of the other characters is intentional -- we hope you get the opportunity to fall in love with girlies you didn't expect!
Q: I changed my mind about who I want to romance partway through my playthrough. Is there any way to change the prioritization?
A: Sorry, no. It's best to gear each playthrough towards a specific ending, especially since one of the success criteria is having gone on a majority of dates with that particular character. However, there *are* some characters who are easier to romance in the same playthrough.
Q: Help! I'm not able to go to the location that a character is at OR other characters show up at that location instead.
A: Each of the love interests are just as busy as you, so you'll only be able to find each character once a week. We've added a line to Cassandra's tutorial to clarify this. (Unless you're talking about Lucy date 7. Then yeah, we had the wrong location in for her. It's fixed as of May 22!)

Gertie Stans Rise!!!
I did every event with kipperlily except the museum, and did all 8 dates with her, but wasn't able to get her to agree to go to the dance at the end. Is there something I'm missing?
Hello! We posted an FAQ yesterday clarifying that there are two criteria for successfully asking a love interest to the Spring Fling: a minimum number of dates and choosing enough “good” dialogue options. The former is tracked in the notebook with the apples (half an apple per date), and the latter is revealed to the player through the love interest’s responses and Cassandra’s debriefs after each date.
Kipperlilly’s route is definitely the toughest one, but for good reason. Think about what Kristen’s established relationship is with her. The rejection dialogue clues you in to what’s important to her and why she’d hesitate to accept your ask!
